Playstation Greetings!
Sony launched the PlayStation its first fifteen years ago, December 3, 1994, changing the course of the history of video games. Of course, after titles such as Wipeout, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy VII, Medievil, Crash Bandicoot, and many other equally deserving success, it seems strange to think that the entry into the field by Sony console could also be too risky a bet.
Born from a disagreement between the Japanese and Nintendo (maybe someone will remember the effort of partnership between the two companies for a CD based system), the first Playstation showed a force not yet dared the dominant powers in the field, the same rivaled by Nintendo SEGA. And time has shown us that Sony has seen along with this challenge: to date, PlayStation 2 remains the best selling console of all time.
Despite this overwhelming success, the PSP and PS3 are no longer to be the market leader, perhaps too much disappointment caused by the security of Nissan or some choices are not really winning, but this is not the place for such discussions, is celebrated today.
So raise your glasses (Sony has even opened a website for the occasion) and wish you a good Playstation fifteenth birthday. It is difficult to say that the world of video games would have been different without you.
